Tour Overview

It takes about 3 hours to reach Darjeeling from both these locations by car. Private taxis (available at NJP and Bagdogra), shared taxis (available at NJP) and bus (from Siliguri bus stand, only 8kms from NJP) are the main public transports to reach Darjeeling from NJP station or Bagdogra airport. Alternatively, you can take the fascinating toy train from NJP or Siliguri all the way up to Darjeeling soaking in the beauty of Himalayas in a 7-hour ride.

Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival at NJP station / Bagdogra airport & drive to Gangtok (135 Kms / 4½ -5 Hrs)

On arrival at NJP Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport you will be received by our office executive who will assist you to board your vehicle to Gangtok. Upon arrival proceed to the hotel for check-in; the evening is free for leisure. Overnight stay at hotel in Gangtok.

Day 2

Excursion to Tshangu Lake and Baba Mandir(12400Ft / 3780 Mts / 43Kms / 3Hrs)

After breakfast, in the morning, start for excursion to Tshangu Lake (12400Ft / 3780 Mts / 43Kms in 3Hrs one way from Gangtok) & through Kyongnosla Alpine Sanctuary and Baba Mandir (13100Ft / 3994 Mts / 16Kms in 1Hrs one way from Tshangu Lake) (no entry for foreigner national, they are allowed to visit till Tshangu Lake, with a valid permit. They also have to be 02 & above number to visit Tshangu Lake). Situated at a height of 12400 feet /3780 Mts / 43Kms in 3Hrs one way, with an average depth of 50 ft. The cool water of the Lake is perfectly attuned with the scenic beauty around. Back to Gangtok and Overnight at Hotel. (In case of Landslide or due to any other reasons if Tshangu Lake is closed then an alternate sightseeing will be provided)

Day 3

Gangtok half - day Sightseeing& drive to Kalimpong

After breakfast at hotel you will depart for Gangtokhalf day sightseeing which includes Research Institute of Tibetology (Closed on Sunday & govt. Holidays), Do-DrulChorten, Directorate of Handicrafts & Handloom (Closed on Sunday & Govt. Holidays), Flower Show. Later transfer to Kalimpong. Overnight stay at Kalimpong.

Day 4

Kalimpong sightseeing & drive to Darjeeling

Early morning Breakfast - After breakfast drive 75kilometers2 ½ - 3 hours transfer to the Kalimpong. Kalimpong situated on the foothills of the Himalayas is a green destination at an altitude of 1243 meters / 4078 feet - It is a historical destination with bustling market, colorful people and offers spectacular views of the Himalayan range. Drive for half day sightseeing tour through scenic road to Forest Museum (Closed On Thursday), Deolo Hill, Hanuman Mandir, Dr Graham Homes, Durbin Monastery, Mangaldham. After sightseeing proceed towards Darjeeling. Overnight stay at hotel in Darjeeling.

Day 5

Darjeeling full – day Sightseeing

Early Morning at 04:00 AM visit Tiger Hill, famous for sunrise over Mt. Kanchendzonga, on way back visit Ghoom Monastery, Batasia Loop and back to hotel. After breakfast proceed for visit 07points, covering The Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, PNZ Zoological Park (closed on Thursday) Tenzing Rock, Tibetans Refuge Centre (closed on Sunday), Tea Garden (outer view), Rope way, Japanese Temple & Peace Pagoda.

Day 6

Darjeeling- NJP station / Bagdogra airport (105 Kms / 3½-4 Hrs)

After breakfast at hotel, transfer to NJP Railway Station for your onwards journey as you go home let the everlasting memory of the radiant Himalayas and this beautiful serene place linger in your mind and prompt you now and again to revisit this place.

    • Personal Expenses such as Laundry, telephone calls, tips & gratuity, mineral water, soft & hard drinks, rafting, rock climbing, paragliding, joy ride (Toy Train), porterage.
    • Additional sightseeing or extra usage of vehicle, other than mentioned in the itinerary.
    • Entrance Fees & Guide charges.
    • Any cost arising due to natural calamities like, landslides, road blockage, political disturbances (strikes), etc (to be borne by the client, which is directly payable on the spot).
    • Any increase in taxes or fuel price, leading to increase in cost on surface transportation & land arrangements, which may come into effect prior to departure.
    • Room Heater Charges.
    • Service Tax.
    • Insurance.
    • Anything which is not included in the inclusion.
